Linebacker Brendan Vaughn Commits, Explains Decision

Oklahoma State picked up commitments from two players on Monday; first with Meeker (OK) offensive lineman Adrian Wolford, and later with Forney (TX) linebacker/safety Brendan Vaughn. He jumped on twitter to announce:
“Well I’m blessed to say that I have decided to end the recruiting process and commit to Oklahoma State University. Thanks to all my parents, friends and coaches for all their support. Go Pokes!!!”

I got a chance to catch up with him briefly after his commitment, and he explained the decision was really pretty straightforward for him.
“Out of all the colleges I’ve visited, I liked OSU the most,” Vaughn said. “I liked their football program and felt comfortable with their coaching staff.”
Vaughn plays a little safety and linebacker in high school, but says the coaches have recruited him to fill the outside linebacker position in Stillwater. At 6-2, 209-pounds with experience as a safety, Oklahoma State is getting a versatile athlete to throw in on the outside.
