LSU Transfer Tight End Donovan Green Commits to Oklahoma State
Green was a blue-chip recruit coming out of high school.
Donovan Green was a big-time prospect in the 2022 recruiting class and after spending time at Texas A&M and LSU, he’ll be a Cowboy in 2026.
Green committed to Oklahoma State on Thursday, according to 247Sports’ Cody Nagel. Listed at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, Green has played in 31 career games, where he has caught 24 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns.
On3 considers Green the No. 1,360 player in the transfer portal, making him 74th among tight ends.
Out of Dickinson, Texas, Green was a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. The 247Sports Composite ranking had him as the No. 105 player in the country, the No. 4 tight end and a Top 20 player from the state of Texas.
He initially chose Texas A&M out of high school over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas and others — a who’s who of sorts.
Green played in 10 games as a true freshman with the Aggies, catching 22 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns, with those TDs coming on the road against Alabama and at home against LSU.
He suffered a season-ending knee injury in camp ahead of the 2023 season but returned to the field as a redshirt sophomore in 2024, playing in eight games but not recording any stats.
Green then transferred to LSU ahead of this past season, playing 84 offensive snaps as a Tiger, where he made a pair of catches for 40 yards.
Green becomes the first tight end the Cowboys have added from the portal this offseason.
