Another sign that football is almost here is that it is Madden season.

Madden 24 (an NFL video game, for the uninitiated) is set to release Friday, and I tracked down 19 former Oklahoma State standouts on the game’s launch rosters. I thought it’d be fun to take a look at the former Pokes and see what the Madden brass thinks of them.

We’ll take in-depth looks at the top five Cowboys in terms of overall ratings and then break down some other notes. (Tyreek Hill is a 98 overall, which would be highest among former Cowboys if you count him.)

Emmanuel Ogbah — 79 Overall

The top-rated Poke on launch day is defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah.

Entering his ninth year in the league and fourth with the Dolphins, Ogbah checks in with 13 attributes rated at least an 80 or higher. His best qualities, according to the game, are his toughness and injury ratings, which are both listed at 89.

Ogbah’s tackle rating is an 86, and he has a pursuit of 85 and a high power of 83.

Ogbah has played in 42 games with the Dolphins the past three seasons, where he has 94 total tackles and 19 sacks.

Teven Jenkins — 78 Overall

Entering Year 3 in Chicago, Teven Jenkins has already worked himself up to a 78 overall.

Listed at left guard, Jenkins has 10 attributes at 80 or above with his best being his 92 toughness and 91 strength. Jenkins has a run-block rating of 83, a pass-block rating of 74 and an impact block rating of 88, so maybe get him pulling and running downhill.

Chuba Hubbard — 75 Overall

Entering Year 3, Chuba Hubbard hasn’t quite broken out as a featured back in the NFL, but he is still among the best Pokes to play as in Madden.

Known for his straight-line speed in Stillwater, Hubbard has 90 speed and 91 acceleration in Madden 24, his two highest attributes along with his 90 injury rating. Hubbard also has an 88 agility rating, and 88 stamina rating and an 85 change of direction.

In two seasons in Carolina, Hubbard has carried the ball 267 times, running for 1,078 yards and seven touchdowns.

Jaylen Warren — 74 Overall

Another OSU running back, Jaylen Warren has made quite the impression in a short amount of time.

Entering his second season in the league, Warren is a 74 overall. He has a 93 carrying rating, which teamed with his 90 speed, 92 acceleration and 81 change of direction should be a lot of fun.

Warren played in 16 games as a rookie last season, carrying the ball 77 times for 379 yards and a touchdown.

Tre Flowers — 74 Overall

It’s hard to imagine, but Tre Flowers is already entering his sixth season in the NFL with this being his first with the Atlanta Falcons.

A big-bodied corner, Flowers has 93 acceleration and 91 speed on this year’s game. The game finds him to be a little bit better in zone coverage than in man, listing his zone rating at 76 and his man at 72. He also has 72 play recognition.

Other Notes

Malcolm Rodriguez is perhaps the most popular former Poke in the league right now. He enters Year 2 with the Lions as a 73 overall (tied with Justice Hill for sixth among OSU standouts). His best attribute comes as a bit of a surprise: 93 jumping. Rodriguez also comes with 86 speed, 90 acceleration, 80 tackling, 87 toughness and 85 pursuit.

Tanner Brown is the highest rated among the OSU rookies at 68 overall. Brown starts Madden 24 with 92 kick power and 73 kick accuracy.

Mason Rudolph is the only former Cowboy quarterback in the game, and he starts Madden 24 at 60 overall. He has 84 throw power, 76 throw under pressure, 72 throw on the run, 82 short-throw accuracy, 74 medium-throw accuracy and 76 deep-throw accuracy.
