Marcus Smart Gets Into Scuffle With JR Smith, Ejected From Preseason Game
Marcus Smart was that guy on Saturday night.
As his Celtics were facing the Cleveland Cavaliers for a preseason exhibition game, he stepped in to defend teammate Aron Baynes, who was shoved by Cleveland’s JR Smith, by interjecting and quickly becoming the “hold me back! hold me back!” guy.

Fortunately, Smart actually did get held back by cooler-headed teammates Jayson Tatum and Terry Rozier. But it mattered not. He — along with Smith — were assessed technicals for the incident, and Smart was ushered out early to the shower.
Not before JR could wish him a sweet goodbye.

Oh, what’s this? You thought the beef was over? Hmmmmph!
“I told him to come back to the back,” said Smart after the game about a gesture he made as he exited. “All that on the court … we can handle that off the court. I ain’t with that.”
Smith had this to say in response:
You big mad ?!!! ??????

Good for Smart for sticking up for his teammate, but in this instance, flopping, for once, may actually have been the best course of action.
