Mason Rudolph on Barry J. Sanders: ‘Awesome To See Him … Playing Well At Home’
Barry J. Sanders thrilled in his first outing at Boone Pickens Stadium, and everybody took notice including his QB. Mason Rudolph was asked about No. 26’s impact on the game on Saturday.
“Seemed like [the fans loved Barry J.],” Rudolph told Go Pokes. “I think I heard a couple chance at one point. Senior was in the locker room hanging out. That punt return was pretty cool. Awesome to see him sinking in and playing well at home.”
He calls Barry Sanders “Senior” which is amazing and more evidence that Mike Gundy is rubbing off on pretty much everyone in the program.
Rudolph isn’t wrong either. Junior was amazing if only in short bursts against a bad team.
“His dad returned a punt against somebody out here about that part of the field, and it looked a lot like that,” said Gundy. “He’s been solid back there. And trustworthy. There’s a role for him and what he does for our team.”

Also, Sarah Phipps beautifully captured the moment in a series of photographs. One of the cooler things I’ve seen in a while.
