Mason Rudolph Selected as Manning Camp Counselor

In what has become somewhat of a summer ritual for Oklahoma State quarterbacks, Mason Rudolph is heading to the Manning Passing Academy on Friday as a counselor.

J.W. Walsh did it, Brandon Weeden did it, Zac Robinson did it and now Rudolph is doing it.

“I’ve never been to the Manning Passing Academy as a camper, but I have always wanted to go as a counselor,” Rudolph told Go Pokes.

Rudolph will join Seth Russell, Cody Kessler, Dak Prescott and apparently somebody from OU (Trevor Knight?) at the camp.

“They’re coming from Penn State, Indiana, Southern California, Stanford, Utah State, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and then we’re not just big-time,” Archie Manning said.

“We’ve got a quarterback coming from (Division II) Shepherd University, and Samford and Jackson State.”

The camp is hosted by Archie, Peyton, Eli and Cooper (Coopah!) and has always been a good experience for OSU QBs in the past.

“Great experience,” said Weeden when he did it before the 2011 season.

“I was a sponge,” he said. “I really enjoyed that a lot, being able to pick brains and be around people like Peyton and Eli, who are just about as good as it gets in the NFL.”
