Mike Gundy: ‘I Thought Yurcich Was Really Good’
Mike Yurcich dialed up some terrific plays on Saturday against KSU.
Oklahoma State put up 490 yards of offense on Kansas State without its top two running backs on Saturday, and Mike Gundy was really pleased with that.
“I thought Yurcich was really good,” said Gundy. “People are on him all of the time and I thought his unpredictability to where we were throwing the ball without a running game was excellent.”
I actually agree with Gundy here and gave both of them credit after the game for using all the smoke and mirrors Boone’s stadium could hold to give Rudolph as much time as possible to throw the rock.
Of course, there was also this …
About which Yurcich said the following.
Words of wisdom from #OKstate OC Mike Yurcich: "I tell you Kyle, you never call a play that you think is going to stink."

It’s part of the offensive coordinator’s job description to take crap from unknowing fans (like me), and Yurcich does it gracefully. So when he has a good game like he did on Saturday (and I agree with Gundy that he did), he deserves credit.
