Mike Gundy Not Pleased with Boone Pickens Comments

After a week of one-sided commentary from Boone Pickens expressing his angst towards Mike Gundy, saying he “doesnt handle relationships very well”, the head coach had his say on the subject in the postgame to share his side of the story.

Needless to say he was not pleased.

Here’s what he told John Hoover of the Franchise:

If you’re doing something that’s hurting us in the big picture, well then I don’t like that. Because that means it makes it worse on these guys who bust their ass.”

Going even further, he explained what a distraction it can be for him and his team.

“Everybody knows about it. Right? You get it walking around in the street. I mean, the players know about it. You can hear them talking about it a little bit. And then it fades away.”

“I just have to do my job,” Gundy added. “I can’t do anything about it. And you know what? At some point, if somebody feels it ain’t good enough, then hell, somebody else can come in here and try it.”
