The revived postseason exhibition allows players a chance to compete in front of and to meet with pro scouts similar to the East-West Shrine Game (where Jordan McCray recently had 3 catches for 31 yards) and the Senior Bowl. The Hula Bowl ran from 1946-2008 but has been dormant since.
Scott spent two years at Oklahoma State after transferring from Trinity Valley Junior College and was an immediate impact player in the Cowboys’ defensive front. Wilson broke into a starting role at guard as a redshirt sophomore and has been the Cowboys’ starting center the last two seasons.
According to the bowl’s website, scouts from the NFL, CFL, XFL and Arena Football will be in attendance, and players will also benefit from a pair of former NFL head coaches in Rex Ryan and Mike Smith. The official rosters are yet to be set but will “include NCAA college football players from all divisions, along with international players from Japan, Canada, Australia, and the UK.”
The Hula Bowl will take place on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 9:30 p.m. CST at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
