Mike Yurcich Nominated for Broyles Award Given to Nation’s Top Assistant
OSU offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich is one of 56 coaches across the country nominated for the Broyles Award, given annually to the top assistant coach in college football.
Also included among the nominees in the Big 12 are Oklahoma offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, Texas DC Todd Orlando, K-State special teams coordinator Sean Snyder, Iowa State DC Jon Heacock and West Virginia DC Tony Gibson.

Oklahoma State alums Brent Guy, DC at Florida International, and Josh Glasgow, DC at TCU, are also among those in the list.
Yurcich was also a nominee for the award last season, however Clemson DC Brent Venables — a former assistant at OU — would go on to win the award.
Yurcich is the mastermind behind the No. 2 offense in the country in yards per game and total yardage to date. OSU’s passing offense, behind senior Mason Rudolph, ranks second in the country behind Oklahoma, and its rushing offense ranks 35th, producing 200 yards on the ground per game.
Oklahoma State has never had an assistant coach win the Broyles Award. The list of 56 finalists will be narrowed to 15 and then to five before a winner will be announced on Dec. 5.
