NCAA Extends Recruiting Dead Period Through May 31
Non-virtual visits are still banned until further notice.
As the U.S. grapples with the coronavirus crisis, the NCAA on Wednesday announced that it will extend the recently implemented recruiting dead period an additional six weeks, pushing out the timeframe through May 31.
The NCAA had recently announced a dead period that would run through April 14, restricting entirely the option for players to take official and unofficial visits.

What does this mean, precisely? It means high school recruits, transfers and grad transfers cannot meet with coaching staffs at their home — or on college campuses.
For basketball specifically. which has its regular signing period scheduled to run from April 15-May 20, it likely means transfers will wind up making decisions on schools they’ve potentially never seen before in-person. And for football, which has its early signing period in December, it means either delayed decisions or decisions being made without final visits, with virtual visits being in play for the foreseeable future.
