New England Patriots Hold Private Workout with Mason Rudolph
Could No. 2 be the successor to Tom Brady in NE?
Fire up all the memes and GIF’s folks, because it’s happening. It really might be happening. The New England Patriots might actually draft Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Pats, who have two first-round draft picks in their hands, recently held a private workout with Rudolph and his top target, James Washington. (Can you say 2-for-1?!?)

It’s no secret that despite Tom Brady’s apparent ability to fight off father time like a Jedi, the Patriots may be looking for his eventual successor. And after shipping of Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers and Jacoby Brissett to the Colts last season, they need a valuable backup who can develop behind the Hall of Famer.
Rapoport also added that Rudolph, who is particularly busy for this time of the draft process, will also visit the Buffalo Bills — another team that has been tied to him in previous weeks — this weekend.
Rudolph has had visits or workouts also with the Chargers, Saints, Giants, Steelers and Bengals.
