New Recruit: Blake Webb
OSU picked up another Texas recruit on Wednesday night, a 3-star WR from The Woodlands, Texas named Blake Webb. Last year Webb caught 47 balls for 903 yards and 5 TDs. He was being recruited by Cal, Notre Dame, and OSU according to this article. .
He looks exactly like former Oklahoma State left Fielder (and current Tennessee Smokie) Ty Wright. I mean to the point that I’m not sure somebody shouldn’t look into this further. Here are their pictures:
As Anthony Slater pointed out, it’s pretty incredible that OSU has picked 11 of its 14 players from Texas and zero from the state of Oklahoma.
Anyway back to Webb. Before we get too excited about this…
…let’s not forget about this.
But then there’s this…
…which begs the question, how pumped are about a whitewash at wide receiver in 2013? We’re halfway there with Glidden and Webb! Does Charlie Moore have much eligibility left?
Here are Webb’s complete rankings:
ESPN – 2-star (72 overall)
Scout – 2-star
Rivals – 3-star
247 – 3-star (84 overall)
And here are some good (football) highlights (I want to compare him to Danny Woodhead but that feels like such a copout):
Wait, did I just keep a post under 200 words (including these)?!?! Ladies and gentlemen, Blake Webb has just emptied my mind of words. Imagine where I’ll be at if we get this guy.
