Receiver Da’wain Lofton will spend his final college season in Stillwater.

Lofton transferred this offseason to Oklahoma State from Virginia Tech, where he had spent his entire career until this point. A senior, he has one year of eligibility left unless he redshirts this season.

It took six weeks, but Lofton finally made his Cowboy debut against West Virginia. And he promptly led OSU with 73 receiving yards while catching three passes. A chunk of his yardage came from a 41-yard pass from Alan Bowman.

At Virginia Tech, Lofton tallied 36 games of experience after immediately seeing the field as a freshman in 2021. He had six catches for 58 yards last season. His best season was as a sophomore in 2022 with 22 receptions, 254 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also contributed on special teams every season.

Lofton said he was drawn to OSU because of offensive coordinator and receivers coach Kasey Dunn, and the fact he looked up to former Cowboy Tylan Wallace.

“As I entered the portal, Oklahoma State gave me the chance to come here, and shoot, I took that chance with no hesitation,” Lofton said at OSU’s media day. “It’s been great so far.”
