Week 2 of the NFL preseason has come and gone, and it saw several former Cowboys make plays.

Let’s take a look at some of the top plays and updates from OSU alums as they try to climb the depth chart ahead of next week’s roster cuts. We’ll get started with Monday night’s matchup between Baltimore and Washington.

Justice Hill, Tylan Wallace Show Out on MNF

Each former Cowboy put his imprint on the Ravens’ 29-28 loss to the Commanders.

Hill hit the ground running on Monday night, racking up 25 yards on two carries and another 13 through the air on the Ravens’ opening touchdown drive.

Then Tylan Wallace raised the bar with his second touchdown in as many preseason outings this year.

Jaylen Warren’s Housecall

Jaylen Warren took only one handoff during the Steelers’ 27-15 win over the Bills, but he made it count.

Washington is a Quick Hit in Indy

The former Biletnikoff winner signed with the Colts on Friday. A day later, he was turning heads.

Washington, who barely had time to find his locker, probably hadn’t quite learned the Colts’ playbook, but he was able to hook up with another former Big 12er. With his single target, Washington connected with former Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger for this 42-yard strike, impressing new teammate, Indianapolis linebacker Zaire Franklin.

Tay Martin Toe-Drags

After almost coming down with a highlight reel catch during the 49ers’ first preseason game, the rookie wideout made sure he got both toes down on this play that moved the chains.

Martin caught all three of his targets for 23 yards. If he keeps it up, he’s got a decent shot to make San Francisco’s roster. NFL teams must cut their rosters to 53 by Aug. 29.

Devin Harper Takes it Back (Again)

A week after falling on a loose ball, Devin Harper apparently knocked one loose. The video tweeted out by OSU Football appears to show the former Cowboy linebacker-turned-Cowboy linebacker, strip the football in Dallas’ 22-14 loss to Seattle, though he was not credited with a forced fumble on the box score. Harper did, however, receive credit for six total tackles (three solo) and a tackle for loss.

Rookie Cowboy linebacker DeMarvion Overshown went down with a torn ACL and is done for the season, further thinning a thin Dallas LB room. That could provide more opportunities for Harper, and another nice showing in the Cowboys’ final preseason game would bode well for his chances of climbing the depth chart.

More Updates

• Former OSU cornerback Rodarius Williams was claimed off waivers by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from the New York Giants.

• Chuba Hubbard Likely Done for Preseason:

Hubbard started the Panthers’ 21-19 loss to the New York Giants in place of injured Miles Sanders. After eight carries for 30 yards, Hubbard himself went down with an ankle injury. With his spot pretty secure in the lineup, it looks like Carolina will shelf the former OSU running back until the season opener, according to The Charlotte Observer.

• There was a good story in the Miami Herald about Emmanuel Ogbah’s offseason work with NFL Africa this past fall.
