It’s that time of year again. Football is on TV.

The NFL’s preseason slate kicked off this weekend and a handful of former Cowboys saw the field, with several making big plays. Let’s take a look at the highlights.

We’ll start our preseason Week 1 recap with a couple of reel-worthy TDs by a couple of Cowboy greats.

Mason Rudolph: Deep-ball Specialist

Rudolph is entering his fifth year in Pittsburgh and comes into 2023 projected as QB3 behind Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky. Regardless of how things shake out at the end of camp, Rudy showed that he’s still got that deep-ball acumen.

He found Calvin Austin for a 67-yard sideline bomb that ended in points.

Rudolph went 7-of-12 for 132 yards and that score as the Steelers topped the Buccaneers 27-17. They’ll host Buffalo Bills next Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Tylan Wallace Finds the Score Zone

In his first two years, Wallace has yet to carve out a featured role in Baltimore’s offense, but he got Year 3 started the right way.

Wallace reeled in this go-ahead scored in the fourth quarter to help secure the Ravens’ 20-19 win over the Eagles. He finished with two catches for 18 yards and that score.

Devin Harper Takes it Back

The Cowboy linebacker-turned-Cowboy linebacker got to make an impression at the start of his second year in the league.

Harper registered six total tackles (three solo) and a recovered fumble in the Cowboys’ 28-23 loss to the Jaguars.

Tay Martin’s Got Hands

Martin hauled in two of three targets in his 49ers’ 34-7 loss to the Raiders, but he did get to show off on his ball skills earlier in the week. He did have a 21-yard catch that was ruled out-of-bounds upon official review.

Tanner Brown Rebounds

No kicker wants to start off his pro career with a wide-left miss, but Brown bounced back in a nice way.

He finished 3-for-4, making both of his extra-point attempts, as the Rams fell to the Chargers 34-17. Brown is the only kicker in the Rams’ camp.
