NFL Update: Jaylen Warren Continues Productive Streak, Emmanuel Ogbah Gets the QB, and Which Pokes Are Playoff-Bound

The penultimate week of the NFL’s regular season is in the books. What’s left are a few teams still jockeying for playoff seeding and several more looking to finish out the year on a high note.

Let’s take a look around the league for updates and highlights from several former Cowboys.

Jaylen Warren Gets Yards

The former OSU running back turned in a season-best 112 scrimmage yards on Christmas Day, amassing 71 yards on the ground and 41 through the air. Heading into Week 18, that gives him a total of 490 rushing yards and a score (4.3 yards per carry) and 310 receiving yards, all while coming off the bench.

Finishing the third year of his rookie contract, Warren will head into next year as a restricted free agent, but it appears that he’s done enough to warrant a re-signing in Steel City and has plenty to build off.

Warren and the Steelers are postseason bound but still looking to jockey for seeding. They finish off their regular season with a visit from the Cincinnati Bengals, a team on the bubble.

Emmanuel Ogbah’s Strip-Sack

The former Brown got some payback on his older franchise.

Ogbah totaled five tackles (four solo), had two QB hits and this strip sack in the Dolphins’ 20-3 win against Cleveland. It brings his sack total to 4.5 on the season.

Miami is officially on the bubble heading into the final week. The Dolphins end their season with a trip to face the New York Jets at 3:25 p.m. Sunday.

Justice Set to Return

Justice Hill is expected to play in Baltimore’s regular season finale during a visit to those same hapless Browns. Hill missed the Ravens’ win over the Texans last week after leaving the game a week earlier due to a concussion.  According to the Ravens’ website, he also missed a bonus practice on Monday but that was due to illness, not the concussion.

Hill, who has become a major factor in Baltimore’s receiving attack, enters the final game with a career-high 611 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns. He’s totaled 228 rushing yards (4.9 per carry) and reeled in 42 catches for 383 yards. The Ravens will look to clinch the AFC North division when the welcome the 3-13 Browns  at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rudolph to Split Reps in Finale

Tennessee head coach Brian Callahan is going to give both of his QBs reps on Sunday.

After taking over for benched starter Will Levis, Rudolph, OSU’s all-time passer, has produced zero wins. The Titans are tied for an AFC-worst 3-13, regardless of who is taking snaps, but it looks like those two Ls may have loosened Rudolph’s grip on the reins.

In a loss to Jacksonville on Sunday, Rudolph completed 19-of-31 passes for 193 yards, a score and an interception. Rudolph is 1-4 as a starter in his first season at Tennessee. He’s completed 63.5% of his passes for 1,460 yards, nine TDs and nine interceptions.

After the loss, Callahan told media members that he would give both guys a shot in the season finale.

“It would be different had we won two games in a row with Mason, but we haven’t,” Callahan said. “We are where we are with our game performance and our record.”

The Titans will host the Houston Texans for their final game at noon Sunday.
