NFL Update: Mason Rudolph Struggles, a Pair of Pokes Deal with Injuries
The good, bad and ugly concerning former Pokes after the NFL’s Week 8.
Several former Cowboys saw the field this past Sunday, but it was a rough go overall.
Let’s take a look around the NFL to catch up with Oklahoma State alums, starting with the Cowboys’ all-time passing leader who made his second-straight start.
Mason Rudolph Struggles in Second Start
The former OSU quarterback logged his second start of the season for the Tennessee Titans, and he is 0-2. Rudolph completed 22 of 38 attempts for one touchdown and two interceptions against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
It wasn’t all bad for Rudolph, who took over after Titans quarterback Will Levis went down with shoulder injury. Not quite Lamar-level stuff, but it was effective.

Rudolph has completed 59% of his throws and accounted for three total touchdowns to three interceptions in three appearances this year. The 1-6 Titans’ only win of the season was when Rudolph came in late in Week 4 when they topped Miami 31-12.
Tyler Lacy Highlighted, Then Made Some Highlights
Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ matchup against Green Bay on Sunday, a local news affiliate News 4 Jax ran a feature on the former OSU defensive lineman and his mother’s cancer survival. You should check it out here.
Then on Sunday, Lacy turned in a career-high four total tackles and a QB hit. It was Lacy’s fourth start this season. The Jaguars fell to Green Bay 30-27.
Rodrigo Expected to Be Back after a Week
The third-year linebacker went out early during the Lions’ win over Tennessee after aggravating an existing injury, but it looks like he’s expected to return next week. On the first punt coverage play, Rodriguez seemed to step awkwardly, twisting his ankle, but it was confirmed that he avoided the dreaded high ankle sprain.

He aggravated an old ankle injury, but it’s nothing severe. Rodrigo is likely to miss Week 9, but should return for Week 10 vs. the #Texans. pic.twitter.com/M9SrEiVZmU

This setback came just one week after Rodriguez logged a season-high seven tackles, a tackle for loss and a QB hit against Minnesota. The Lions currently sit atop the NFC North, at an NFC-best 6-1.
Teven Jenkins Goes Down (Again)
Teven Jenkins was effective in pass protection but went down twice injured and did not return the second time. It has been reported as a knee injury, but his long-term status has not been announced.

Jenkins has started at left guard for the Bears in all seven games he’s played this season. He’s gone through his fair share of injuries since being drafted by Chicago in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, dealing with a back injury that kept him out of most of this rookie season as well as neck and calf injuries that kept him out of multiple games.
