Notebook: Oklahoma State-Texas
Five thoughts here. Let’s keep this short and sweet.
• If you weren’t covering this game or at it, why were you tuned in on a Friday night? Real question.
• OSU’s interior defense is mildly embarrassing. Cam Ridley would have had 35-15 if he hadn’t been hurt.
• Not untrue. Dude looks like he’s 35.
Dave Hunziker just referred to Javon Felix as "the rather pudgy Texas guard."

• Leyton Hammonds is a really good scorer. I’m not sure if Leyton Hammonds is much of anything else on the D1 college level.
• Shaka Smart is annoying. I have some barrelfire takes. By the way, how quick was the Ford-Smart handshake? Wooo! It wasn’t Self-Drew (not much is), but it wasn’t exactly a warm embrace.
• I thought Oklahoma State did pretty well against Texas’ press.
• Oklahoma State hasn’t defeated a team outside the state of Kansas since TCU on January 2. That is incredible on a number of levels.
• Haftime recap: Let’s go Peay!
• Texas always has a tall, white guy who can stroke from three. This year (and I think for the last few) it’s a dude named “Lammert” which, when you think about it, is the perfect name for a tall, white troll-y Texas big man.
• Texas has to be the most fun team to be bad at basketball and good at football against, no? OU would be pretty good too, but Texas really, really does not care about hoops.
• Yep.
In the '00s at Gallagher-Iba Arena, you literally had to yell at the person next to you. Tonight, you can yell across the court.

• Texas has a wings specialist for its basketball team. Maybe the athletic department should look at finding a quarterbacks specialist instead? I kid. Sort of.
• Pretty sick.

• The Oklahoma State coaches look pretty ragged on the bench. I feel bad for them. I feel bad for everyone involved.
• Isaiah Taylor is really good. Jawun Evans is better.
• Miles Simon talks a lot … like a lot.
• The good news about the Big 12 Tournament is that it looks like if we win the first round game, we get KU in the second round. I’m not sure if I’m being sarcastic.
• Shaka Smart has as many 10-win Big 12 seasons as Travis Ford
• Yowza.
Announced attendance tonight: 4,023. Smallest for an #OKState conference home game since 1986.

• Over under (in years) of Shaq Cleare weighing four spins if I set it at 2018.5?
• All night.
