It’s been three long years since Dez Bryant played in an NFL game, but that could change soon.

Bryant officially signed to the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad Tuesday. News came out Thursday that the signing was imminent, but the Ravens confirmed the move Tuesday.

Bryant played 28 games as an Oklahoma State Cowboy, where he brought in 147 receptions for 2,425 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also scored three times off punt returns.

The Dallas Cowboys took Bryant with their first-round pick in 2010. He played eight seasons with the pro Cowboys, bringing in 531 passes for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns. His 73 receiving touchdowns are a franchise record.

Bryant signed with the New Orleans Saints midway through the 2018 season, but he tore his Achilles in practice shortly after and has been out of the league since.

Bryant, 31, now has the opportunity to play in one of the most innovative offenses the league has seen in recent seasons.

Reigning MVP Lamar Jackson has perhaps the most dual-threat ability the league has seen since Michael Vick’s heyday. Jackson’s receiving unit includes Marquise Brown, Willie Snead, Miles Boykin and Devin Duvernay. However, of that group, only Boykin is taller than 6-foot. Bryant’s 6-foot-2, athletic frame should add nicely to the Ravens’ already deadly offense.
