Make that two concerts at Boone Pickens Stadium in one weekend.

Because of overwhelming demand, Oklahoma State announced on Thursday that it will host another concert on Friday, April 11. It was revealed Tuesday that Boone Pickens Stadium would house “The Boys From Oklahoma” on Saturday, April 12, for a “daylong” concert that will benefit OSU’s Name, Image and Likeness fund.

OSU said in its release that more than 104,000 applications were submitted in the first 24 hours that fans could sign up to be part of the presale, prompting the second show.

The second announced show will still include Cross Canadian Ragweed, Turnpike Troubadours, Jason Boland & The Stragglers and Stoney LaRue, but The Great Divide will be replaced by Mike McClure Band for the night. Every performer has roots in Stillwater.

It will be the first time since 2006 and a massive renovation that OSU’s football stadium hosted a concert. Lewis Field hosted a handful of concerts before the stadium was renamed in 2003. Boone Pickens Stadium was officially re-dedicated in 2009, so this would be the first concert there in its present state.

Tickets pre-sales will start at 10 a.m. Monday and general public tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 11. Those wanting to attend must go here to get a pre-sale password until Saturday, while general public tickets will be sold on OSU’s website. Fans who have already submitted a presale application do not need to again for the Friday show.
