Oklahoma State made the cut for a talented big man out of the Big Apple.

Brandon Williams, a 2023 power forward from Middle Village, Queens, New York, dropped his Top 5 on Tuesday, and the Cowboys were on the list along with UCLA, Illinois, St. John’s and UConn.

At 6-foot-7, 205-pound power forward, Williams hails from Christ the King Regional in Queens, New York. He also plays for EYBL program PSA Cardinals. On the EYBL circuit this summer, Williams averages 11 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists a game.

He’s the No. 136 player in the 2023 cycle, according to 247Sports composite rankings, the 28th ranked power forward and top New York prospect. 247’s own rankings lists him a bit higher, at 89th overall, No. 20 for his position but also the top talent in NY. Rivals lists him as No. 116 nationally and 25th at power forward, and On3 Sports lists him as the No. 88 prospect in the cycle.

Williams took an official visit to nearby St. John’s and has been to UCLA on an unofficial basis. He has an official trip to Westwood scheduled for August 2. According to one report, Williams had a visit scheduled to Stillwater for Father’s Day weekend.

Going from New York City to Stillwater would be quite the culture shock, but the man recruiting Williams can share first-hand knowledge of the transition.

“Oklahoma State has been recruiting me for a little while now,” Williams told On3. “Mike Boyton being a New York coach and being from Brooklyn, I feel like being in his program I can trust him and believe in him to make me a better player. They’ve had people like me, for example, Cade Cunningham came through their program and did big things.”

Williams is an athletic big who can run the floor, defend and attack the rim. Take a peek at some of his skills on display from the June Camp held by the Catholic High School Athletic Association. Williams earned Real Scout’s Most Outstanding Player for the exhibition.
