While OSU fans are patiently awaiting word on Ollie Gordon’s intentions for 2024, another member of his favorite position group announced that he’ll be back in Stillwater next year.

Offensive tackle Dalton Cooper, who’s started 12-straight games for the Cowboys, will return in 2024 to try to continue that streak.

The Prague, Okla. native transferred to Oklahoma State prior to the 2023 season after three years as a starter at Sun Belt program Texas State. After starting out at right tackle for the Cowboys early on, he transitioned back to left tackle midway through the year, his former position with the Bobcats. He was the highest-rated OSU lineman according to PFF, as Sellout Crowd’s Sam Hutchens pointed out earlier this week.

Cooper is the third member of OSU’s offensive line to announce his return for 2024. Cole Birmingham and Joe Michalski are also coming back. On top of paving the way for a Doak Walker winner, the OL unit also ranked third in the Big 12 in sacks allowed.

The Cowboys had an up-and-down season, starting with a 2-2 start before Gordon’s emergence as the top running back in the nation. The Pokes can reach 10 wins for just the second time six years with a Texas Bowl win over Texas A&M.

Even more than that, they’ll be looking for a springboard into 2024. One that, hopefully, includes Number Zero. The more of his trenchmen that are set to return, the better.
