Oklahoma State Offers Arkansas Commit, 2025 Running Back Markeylin Batton
Batton is a two-way star with an Arkansas pedigree.
The Cowboys and Razorbacks will compete on the gridiron this upcoming season, but they’re also competing on the recruiting ground.
Markeylin Batton, a 2025 Texas running back and defensive back, announced on Oklahoma State offer via his X account Thursday. It’s his 16th offer overall. Batton mentioned OSU running backs coach John Wozniak in his tweet, meaning the Cowboys are most likely after Batton as a rusher.

He committed to Arkansas on Feb. 3 over the likes of Michigan State, Missouri, Texas Tech and Houston. But this list continues to grow with TCU and OSU calling since that pledge. Batton’s uncle is former Razorback and former All-Pro offensive lineman Jason Peters.
Here’s what has all of those schools so excited about Batton as a prospect.
Batton is a talented two-way player listed at 5-10 and 180 pounds by 247 Sports, hailing from Atlanta High School (Texas). He’s filled up the stat sheet for the Rabbits the last two years. He rushed for 610 yards and nine touchdowns on 81 handoffs last year, following up a 660-yard, nine-score sophomore more season. He’s also expanded his game to be a more productive target, hauling in 16 catches for 255 and four TDs last year. On defense over the last two seasons, Batton totaled 35 tackles, four pass breakups and a forced fumble. As a sophomore in 2022, he earned District 6-3A DI Utility Player of the Year.
Batton is a three-star prospect according to 247 Sports, On3 and Rivals, with the latter tabbing him as the No. 48 RB in the country as of writing.
Oklahoma State currently has one commitment for the 2025 class, Idabel athlete Matrial Lopez, another dynamic two-way player who appears destined to play on the offensive side of the ball.
Here’s a look at Batton’s skills on both sides of the ball.
