Oklahoma State Offers Memphis Transfer Offensive Lineman Makylan Pounders
He’s got starting experience at the D-I level, and an all-time OL name.
The same day it lost a high school offensive line prospect, Oklahoma State was already in the transfer portal looking for another big man to block for Ollie Gordon.
Memphis offensive tackle Makylan Pounders announced Tuesday on X that he had an offer from the Cowboys after reportedly entering the transfer portal last week. That same day, three-star offensive line recruit Semisi Tonga from Salt Lake City flipped his commitment from OSU to incoming Big 12 program Arizona State.Â

Pounders, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound redshirt sophomore, started at left tackle most of the season for Memphis. He also kicked off the 2022 season in the starting lineup until an injury in the opener limited his playing time the rest of the season.
Pounders was a three-star recruit, per 247Sports, out of Byhalia High School in Mississippi. He had offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas and others. Since entering the portal, Pounders has announced offers from Auburn, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and South Carolina.
So far, OSU has had five offensive linemen announce their return for next season, including Joe Michalski, Cole Birmingham, Dalton Cooper, Jake Springfield and Jason Brooks Jr. The Cowboys’ 2024 recruiting class currently includes three offensive linemen, all of which are three-star recruits.
The early signing period opens Wednesday.
