Oklahoma State Offers Pair of 2026 Prospects in Four-Star Safety Daijon Gaines, OT Tucker Smith
OSU offers a fast-rising in-state defensive back and a big and athletic offensive tackle.
Just because their season is in full swing, doesn’t mean Oklahoma State coaches aren’t still beating down doors on the recruiting trail. A pair of 2026 prospects announced Oklahoma State offers this week as their respective prospective position coaches prepared for a visit from the Arkansas Razorbacks at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Daijon Gaines | 2026 | Safety | ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Cowboys threw their hat in the ring for a Tulsa native whose stars are on the rise and already boasts more than a dozen offers. Gaines, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound safety from Union High School, reported his OSU offer on Sunday.

Gaines’ offer list already included half of the Big 12 with the likes of Arizona, Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, UCF and Utah, as well as Missouri, Tulsa and others. Soon after his OSU offer, he earned a fresh four-star ranking, according to Rivals. He’s yet to be ranked by any other services, but it’s early in his recruitment. Gaines is also a track & field star who takes part in the 400 meters, and 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
Here’s a look at some of the speed and playmaking ability on the field.
Tucker Smith | 2026 | Offensive Tackle
The Cowboys are looking West to replenish their ranks in the trenches. Smith, a 2026 offensive tackle from Sandra Day O’Connor High School in Pheonix, Arizona, announced an Oklahoma State offer via his X account on Wednesday.
After an incredible phone call with @Coach_Dickey I am blessed to have received a D1 offer from @CowboyFB. Looking forward to visiting soon! @CoachZAllen @CoachCole42 @CoachRTBradford @Josh_Gonzales2 @CoachTimRattay pic.twitter.com/24sUAH9rFR

Smith attended a camp at Kansas State in early June, where he apparently impressed Chris Klieman’s staff enough to garner a Wildcats offer. At (a self-reported) 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, he’s got the size to compete for a spot at the next level, with another year-plus to continue to develop before he steps foot on a college campus. And as the below clip shows, he’s making the most of that time. Expect his offer list to continue to grow. Smith is still unranked by major recruiting services.
