The Cowboys are attempting a late flip from a Big 12 rival.

Oklahoma State offered Del City cornerback LaDainian Fields on Monday. Fields has been committed to TCU since August, but this one is rather interesting. Fields is an in-state prospect, and he is cousins and high school teammates with OSU commit Rodney Fields.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, LaDainian is a consensus three-star prospect, listed as the No. 1,267 player in the 2024 247Sports Composite rankings. He is the No. 16 player in the state of Oklahoma, per 247. Along with his TCU offer, Fields has offers to Kansas State, Washington, Washington State, UTSA and others.

He was part of a Del City squad that went 12-1 this past season with its only loss coming to Carl Albert in the 5A state final. Fields did a little bit of everything for the Eagles, returning punts, playing wide receiver and playing defense.

Given Fields mentioned OSU corners coach Tim Duffie in his offer announcement, it appears the Cowboys are after him as a corner. The Cowboys have three defensive backs committed in their 2024 class in Landyn Cleveland (Mansfield, Texas), David Kabongo (Trophy Club, Texas) and Willie Nelson (Longview, Texas).

OSU’s 2024 class was quick to jump on Fields’ recruitment when he announced his offer, with Rodney and OSU linebacker commit Jonathan Agumadu sending out tweets.

The early signing period opens Dec. 20.
