After a big week in South Carolina, Justin McBride has an Oklahoma State offer.

McBride, a 6-foot-7 forward in the 2023 class, averaged 16.8 points and 6.3 rebounds a game for Drive Nation at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam last week. And Thursday evening, he announced an offer from the Cowboys.

Who Is He?

From Plano, Texas, McBride is listed at 6-7, 210 pounds. He spent two seasons at the highly revered Oak Hill Academy in Virginia before transferring back to Plano during the winter break last school year. Plano went 33-1 this past season, losing in the area round of the Texas 6A state tournament.

McBride plays alongside a handful of OSU targets on the DFW-based Drive Nation AAU squad. That team includes Jamyron Keller, who got an OSU offer and made an official visit this summer, and 2024 five-star standout Liam McNeeley, who OSU offered last August.

During a three-game stretch at Peach Jam, McBride dropped 21 points, 33 points and 21 points, averaging the 25 points in a little over 25 minutes a game. He shot 54% from the field and 28% from 3-point range during the entire tournament.

In the Rankings

McBride’s recruitment has been a rollercoaster to this point. He debuted in the 2023 composite rankings in February of 2021 as the No. 27 player in the class, but he has since fallen, coming in at No. 152 in the most recent rankings. After a performance like he had in South Carolina, he could be on the way back up those rankings heading into his senior year of high school.

Others Involved

At one point last year, McBride cut his school list down to five, but he has since reopened his recruitment. He has offers from Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, TCU, Arizona State and others.
