As the Cowboys try to bolster their 2024 class, they sent a summertime offer to an offensive lineman from Arkansas.

Chauncey Johnson on Monday announced he had received an offer from Charlie Dickey and Oklahoma State.

Who Is He?

Listed at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds, Johnson is from Lonoke, Arkansas — a town of about 4,000 east of Little Rock. Lonoke went 6-5 in 2022, according to MaxPreps, where the Jackrabbits made it into the 4A State Playoffs.

Johnson played at left guard and left tackle for the Jackrabbits in his junior season, as his team averaged 32.8 points, 154.5 passing yards and 182.4 rushing yards a game.

Johnson is also a regional champion wrestler and competes in track and field.

In the Rankings

As things stand, On3 is the only major recruiting service that has given Johnson a star rating. On3 lists him as a three-star prospect, the No. 83 offensive tackle and the No. 12 player from Arkansas in the 2024 class.

Others Involved

OSU becomes just the second Power Five program to offer Johnson, following Missouri. He also holds offers to Arkansas State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and others.

OSU’s 2024 Class

As of writing, the Cowboys have eight commitments in the 2024 class. Caleb Hackleman (Texarkana, Texas) is the only offensive lineman in the class as things stand. OSU’s class ranks 43rd nationally.
