Oklahoma State Receives No. 10 Seed, Will Play No. 7 Seed Michigan in Indianapolis
For the 28th time in their storied history, the Oklahoma State Cowboys (20-12, 9-9 in the Big 12) are headed to the NCAA Tournament.
After a one year absence from the Big Dance, the 10-seeded Cowboys will play the 7-seed Michigan Wolverines (24-11, 10-8 in the Big 10) in Indianapolis on Friday at 11:15 a.m. in the Midwest Region on CBS. Here’s what the Midwest bracket looks like, which included 3 (!) Big 12 teams.

The 7-seeded Michigan Wolverines come roaring into the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big 10 tournament and four games in four days after surviving a scary airplane mishap earlier in the week.
For the Cowboys, a 10 seed is much lower than their KenPom rating suggests they should receive. As the number 1-ranked offensive efficiency team in the country and the 133rd-ranked defensive team, the Cowboys are ranked 24th overall in KenPom. They were ranked by the selection committee as the no. 37 team in the field-

Led by All Big 12 First-Teamer Jawun Evans (19.0 points per game, 6.2 assists per game) and All Big 12 Second-Teamer Jeffrey Carroll (17.4 per game, 6.6 rebounds per game), the Cowboys finished fifth in the Big 12.

The Wolverines are the 21st-ranked KenPom team and actually look pretty similar to the Cowboys — they are the fifth-ranked offensive team in the nation and just the 69th-ranked defensive team.
Michigan is led by senior guard Derrick Walton Jr. (15.0 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game) and senior guard Zak Irvin (12.8 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game).
The Wolverines ended the season on a 10-2 streak while the Cowboys went 10-4 in their last 14.

Historically, Oklahoma State is 38-26 in the NCAA tournament, and will look to win their first NCAA tournament game since 2009, over Tennessee. The Big 12 as a whole will send six teams to the Big Dance- Oklahoma State, Kansas, Iowa State, West Virginia, Baylor, and Kansas State. Oklahoma State will play on Friday at 11:15 AM central time, on CBS.
