Oklahoma State Reportedly Reaches Out to North Texas Transfer Tylor Perry
Perry dropped 23 on the Cowboys to end OSU’s season.

Oklahoma State is in need of a point guard and 3-point shooting. Well, on Monday night, a point guard — from Oklahoma — who shoots 41% from 3-point range entered the transfer portal. It didn’t take long for Mike Boynton to reportedly make contact.
Oklahoma State was among a long list of schools that have reached out to North Texas transfer Tylor Perry, according to Adam Zagoria. If Perry sounds familiar, it’s probably because he helped the Mean Green end OSU’s season in the quarterfinal round of the NIT. North Texas went on the win the NIT where Perry won MVP honors.
Out of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma, Perry is the reigning Conference USA Player of the Year after averaging 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals this season while shooting 41% from 3 and shooting 7.5 3s a game. He put up 35 points against San Jose State in November and scored 20+ points in 19 games this past season.
Against OSU, Perry dropped 23 points including a trio of 3-pointers.
Perry went to Coffeyville Community College out of Spiro High School. After averaging 11.8 points as a freshman, Perry led Coffeyville to a junior college national championship as a sophomore while averaging 17.6 points a game, shooting 44% from deep that season.
Upon transferring to North Texas as a junior, Perry instantly made an impact, averaging 13.5 points while making the C-USA First Team and being named the league’s sixth man of the year.
Although Perry to OSU seems to make a lot of sense based on him being from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State needing what he does, the Cowboys aren’t the only ones after Perry. According to Zagoria, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, UCF, Wichita State, Cal, Mississippi State, Minnesota and Georgia Tech have also reached out since Perry hit the portal.
Another team to watch out for is Texas Tech. Tech hired UNT coach Grant McCasland this offseason. Although a Tech move also has some logic given McCasland, the Red Raiders do have lead guards De’Vion Harmon and Pop Isaacs set to return as things stand.
Here is a list of players we have seen linked with OSU out of the transfer portal (there are likely more, the link just hasn’t been made public).
