Oklahoma State Sells Out Season Ticket Allotment for First Time since 2013

There are a lot of unknowns about Oklahoma State’s 2023 football season, but one thing is for certain — there will be people in the stands.

Oklahoma State announced Monday that it has sold out of its season tickets with Brett McMurphy reporting that this is the first time OSU has sold out of season tickets since 2013. I imagine Oklahoma State fans wouldn’t mind 2023 to end up like 2013. That season, the Cowboys went 10-3 and made an appearance in the Cotton Bowl.

It’s cool on a lot of levels that Oklahoma State sold out of season tickets this season in particular. For starters it shows the Cowboys’ fanbase isn’t a fair weather one. OSU went 7-6, losing five of its final six games last season and scored 20 points in only one of those games. This 2023 team brings with it a lot of turnover that fans are still excited to see, and that says a lot about the fanbase.

It’s also big considering the overall landscape of college football. With conference realignment running wild, eyeballs on college football are at a premium. Many have wondered which school will be the bell cow of the new-look Big 12. Although results on-field will be the main stat to determine that, having a full stadium also goes to show how serious OSU takes football.

The Cowboys will kick off their 2023 season in less than three weeks. Oklahoma State opens the year Sept. 2 in a game against Central Arkansas. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Boone Pickens Stadium.
