Oklahoma State Showing Interest in Siena Transfer Nico Clareth
Oklahoma State is among the three hoops programs that have already shown interest in Siena transfer guard Nico Clareth.
Mark Singelais, who covers Siena for the Times Union, reported the news on Tuesday and noted that Clareth, a junior, has left the Siena program already and is seeking a new landing spot.
Oklahoma State, Nevada and Wyoming are among the programs showing early interest in former Siena guard Nico Clareth, who has left the team and intends to transfer.

As a junior this season, Clareth averaged 15.1 points 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the floundering 5-14 Saints. According to KenPom, Clareth, a 6-5 guard, played primarily at small forward. He averaged double digits scoring in each of his three seasons at Siena.
Upon announcing the news that he would transfer last week, Clareth said it was “what’s best for me, my family, and the team, is for me to step away.”
Head coach Jimmy Patsos echoed the same sentiment in a statement.
“It’s just what’s best for everyone,” he said.
Clareth will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next destination and will sit two semesters before re-gaining eligibility, per NCAA transfer rules.
He could transfer to his next school for the spring and be eligible for the spring 2019 semester (sitting this semester and in the fall), similar to what former top-100 recruit Curtis Jones did two weeks ago when he left Indiana for OSU.
