Oklahoma State Tied for Lowest Projected Win Total in Big 12
But, this league is chaos.
The Cowboys, equipped with a revamped coaching staff and retooled roster, hope to bounce back in a big way in 2025. Vegas is not so sure.
Just two weeks left until the start of its season, Oklahoma State is in a five-way tie for the lowest projected win total in the Big 12. Yahoo Sports compiled the list from BetMGM, and Cowboys came in with just 5.5 wins, tied for lowest with Colorado, UCF, Arizona and West Virginia. The Cowboys went 3-9 last season and 0-9 in Big 12 play. At the top of the list was Kansas State (the projected league champ) tied with Arizona State and Texas Tech, each projected at 8.5 wins.
The logjam at the bottom, especially, signifies what we know to be true. The Big 12 is unpredictable, and Vegas doesn’t know what to do with about half of its teams. The Cowboys’ season, with as much turnover on its roster and in its staff as any, is especially hard to predict.
Remember that this league is chaos and is only entering its second season with its current roster of programs. Also good to remember that last year at this time, newcomer Arizona State was predicted to finish dead last in the conference only take bring home a trophy from Arlington.
On a more immediate betting theme, the Cowboys are heavy favorites in their season opener against UT Martin. OSU is a 22.5-point favorite according to FanDuel as of writing.
