The Cowboys will host a reigning Elite Eight participant in nonconference during the 2023-24 season.

Jon Rothstein got his hands on the 2023 Big 12-Big East Battle on Wednesday, and Oklahoma State will host Creighton. The Bluejays went 24-13 this past season, falling to national runner-up San Diego State in the Elite Eight. Despite being just a six and a half hour drive apart, OSU and Creighton haven’t met on the hardwood since 1998. The Cowboys are 19-21 against Creighton all-time.

There are a ton of fun storylines with the 2023 rendition of the Big 12-Big East Battle. It will feature the past two national champs going head to head with UConn at Kansas. Houston is the first of the new Big 12 teams that gets to represent the conference in a game against Xavier. Shaka Smart will play against Texas, the school that fired him.

If you’re looking for storylines for OSU game, there’s the proximity of Creighton. The game will also see former four-star Oklahoma preps standout Trey Alexander return to the state. Alexander started all 37 of Creighton’s games as a sophomore, averaging 13.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists a game.
