Oklahoma State Walks Off DBU, Has Won Six In a Row
Corey Hassel hit a walk-off single in the 11th against Dallas Baptist last night to run Oklahoma State’s baseball record for 2016 to 31-15. The Pokes have now won six in a row, the most recent of which came against a heady 32-15 17th-ranked DBU squad.
“That was a galvanizing experience for our team,” said Josh Holliday. “That’s a great win for our team, and we had a nice crowd. It was a ballgame of two teams with great wills to win.”
J.R. Davis was the batter before Hassel in the 11th, and he was intentionally walked to set up a force out.
“I took (the intentional walk to Davis) as disrespect,” said Hassel. “I know that’s not how they meant it — they’re doing what they can to win and they thought I was a better matchup for their pitcher. I respect that decision by them and try to not let it affect me at all and just go up there with a good approach.”
The best part of the entire thing was this superfan who knew right away.
Watch this veteran celebrate another Poke victory while simultaneously moving towards the exit ramp to beat the ferocious crowds out of Allie P. This is not the move of a first-timer. This dude has seen some stuff.
