Oklahoma State receiver De’Zhaun Stribling has went out there, played football, caught balls and scored touchdowns.

Stribling was added to the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the best receiver in college football, the organization announced Wednesday. He became the third Cowboy receiver to make the list, as Brennan Presley and Rashod Owens were included during the preseason. If not for missing most of last season because of injury, Stribling also probably would have been on the list earlier, but he wasn’t concerned about that snub back in August.

“I go out there, and I play football,” Stribling told PFB before the season. “I catch the ball. I score touchdowns. That’s just my job and the job I’m going to do. Not really worried about the list or all that kind of extra stuff. Just focus on helping my team win. That’s it.”

Through six games, Stribling has emerged as the Cowboys’ top receiver. He has 29 catches for 556 receiving yards and four TDs. Presley is second on the team in receiving yards with 337. However, Presley does have Stribling beat with 36 receptions, and the two are tied with four touchdowns.

Stribling made this list after catching a 43-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Garret Rangel last week against West Virginia. The week before that against Kansas State, Stribling posted seven catches for 157 yards and a TD. His breakout performance came Week 3 against Tulsa, catching seven passes again for a career-high 174 yards and a pair of TDs.

Stribling got to Stillwater before the start of last season after transferring from Washington State. He was immediately inserted into the starting lineup but ended up redshirting after a season-ending injury during OSU’s fourth game. Even during that short stretch, Stribling led the Cowboys with 198 receiving yards during a three-QB rotation. He now finds himself in the midst of a QB shuffle again, as Rangel has replaced Alan Bowman in two of the last three games. But that still hasn’t altered Stribling’s job on offense.

“You see the ball, you catch the ball,” Stribling said after the WVU game. “Just trying to do my one 11 and do what I can to help the offense.”
