Oklahoma State Wrestling Shuts Out Top 25 Pittsburgh Team
At least we have wrestling?
After whipping OU in Bedlam on Friday night 33-3, John Smith’s No. 1-ranked OSU squad followed that up with a 39-0 trouncing of No. 21 Pittsburgh. A top 25 team! OSU has now won four straight duels by 30 or more points.
“I thought we wrestled better tonight than we did at OU,” said head coach John Smith whose team notched five major decisions and two technical falls and won by a combined 72-3 over two teams ranked in the top 25 this weekend.
“Any time you have to weigh in twice in one weekend, it can be a little stressful,” added 174-pound star Kyle Crutchmer who rolled 18-5 over Pitt’s Austin Bell.
“Some of these guys bounced back this weekend…we’ve seen a lot of promise today. So responding like we did today, having some guys in some tough matches and separated scores, that’s what we’re looking for right now if we want to make a run in March.”
Here is a look at the scores from Sunday in GIA.
