Both times the Cowboys head to the Rocky Mountains this season will be for a Friday game.

Oklahoma State on Tuesday confirmed that the Cowboys’ game against BYU will be on Friday, Oct. 18. It was originally scheduled to be on either Friday or Saturday.

The Cowboys will also play against Colorado in Boulder on a Friday (Nov. 29) this upcoming season, putting a pair of Friday road tests on the schedule. OSU’s last Friday road game was the Cowboys’ 2019 season-opener against Oregon State, a game the Pokes won 52-36.

The Oct. 18 game against BYU will also mark OSU’s first trip to Provo. The Cowboys are 3-0 against BYU all-time, beating the Cougars 40-34 in double overtime in this past season’s regular-season finale. OSU’s other two meetings with BYU came in 1970s bowl games. OSU beat BYU 16-6 in the 1974 Fiesta Bowl and 49-21 in the 1976 Tangerine Bowl.

Oklahoma State starts its season Aug. 31 against defending FCS national champion South Dakota State in Boone Pickens Stadium.
