OSU Baseball: Cowboys Earn 4 Seed, Will Face Texas in Big 12 Championship Opener

The nation’s No. 8 Oklahoma State Cowboys are the No. 4 team in their conference championship bracket. That says a lot about the strength of the Big 12.

The Cowboys will face the Longhorns in Arlington on Wednesday morning.

With a series win in Waco on Saturday, the Cowboys finished their regular season 36-18 and 15-9 in conference play, tying with both Texas Tech and Oklahoma. But the league’s tie-breaker rules (head-to-head record versus the pool) mean the Cowboys land at the bottom of that tie, the 4 seed of the Big 12 Championship.

The Pokes will face off with UT in a 4/5 matchup on Wednesday morning. OSU swept Texas on the road a month prior. After an 8-6 squeaker, the Cowboys outscored the ‘Horns 24-11 over the final two games in Austin.
