OSU Basketball Still Receiving Vote(s) in AP, Coaches Poll Top 25 Rankings

OSU is still in the mix but not quite ranked.

An 0-2 week with a not-very-close loss to Kansas and a definitely-not-very-close loss to TCU wasn’t (quite) enough to shy away voters from Oklahoma State when the men’s basketball polls dropped Monday morning.

The Cowboys received one vote each in both the AP poll, which dropped at 11 a.m., and the Coaches Poll, which dropped shortly thereafter, which would put OSU at No. 40 and No. 38 if the polls went out that far, respectively. Last week, OSU received 23 votes in the AP and 15 in the Coaches.

Despite OSU missing out on the top 25 cut line, the Big 12 (as always) shined in the rankings with the most teams in the top 25. That was led by Kansas moving up to No. 3 and both Texas and Baylor hanging steady in the top 10 at No. 8 and No. 9. Kansas State ranked 14th and Iowa State and TCU were back to back at 23 and 24. (Incoming Big 12 member Houston ranked No. 1 this week as well. Gulp!)

OSU’s basketball team has not been ranked since the 2020-21 season when it had Cade Cunningham and Co., but it has flirted close with getting there of late. A 2-0 week this week might stop the unranked streak with West Virginia and K-State on deck.
