In some ways, it does matter how you get to 1-0, if rankings matter to you, that is. After a mostly ugly showing on offense, Oklahoma State dropped from No. 11 down to 15 in the AP Poll following its 16-7 win over Tulsa.

Oklahoma State debuted at No. 15 but climbed to 11 while inactive the week before. In the Amway Coaches poll, the Cowboys dropped from 12th to 18th for Week 3.

Here’s a look at the complete AP Top 25.

Rank Team Prev Week
1 Clemson 1
2 Alabama 2
3 Oklahoma 3
4 Georgia 4
5 Florida 5
6 LSU 6
7 Notre Dame 7
8 Texas 9
8 Auburn 8
10 Texas A&M 10
11 North Carolina 12
12 Miami (FL) 17
13 UCF 14
14 Cincinnati 13
15 Oklahoma State 11
16 Tennessee 15

19 Louisiana-Lafayette 19
20 Virginia Tech 20

With OSU being the only Big 12 in action this past weekend, there wasn’t a lot of movement around the league. While inactive Oklahoma remained at 3 and Texas climbed from 9 to T-8 with Auburn.
