OSU Extends Offer to 2016 Two-Way Player Darel Middleton
It’s not often the Cowboys recruit players who have their choice to play either side of the ball, but Darel Middleton isn’t your typical recruit that the Cowboys pursue, either.
Middleton is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN, and at 6-7, 230-pounds from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Middleton can wreak havoc on both sides of the ball. He committed to Tennessee originally, then backed off his commitment and chose Arizona State in July as a tight end, but decommitted from the Sun Devils in September.
He took to twitter to announce he received an offer from the Pokes, with an option to play either tight end or defensive end:

The tweet has since been deleted, likely because he posted a picture of the Iowa Hawkeyes stadium (top right). Ideally, Middleton would fill the only spot at the Cowboy back position. Having someone his size with his unique agility would be a welcome addition; however, Middleton also has offers from Alabama, Florida State, Louisville, and others… So fending off other suitors will be a tough task.
