OSU Gains Verbal Commitment from Minnesota OL
The recruiting trail hasn’t been too kind to the Cowboys of late, losing verbal commitments from Nick Starkel, Tramal Ivy, and Ryan McCollum in recent weeks. But good news came early Wednesday morning when offensive line prospect Matt Kegel, a 6-6, 300-pound offensive guard chose to announce his commitment on twitter.
“I’m extremely excited to announce that I will be committing to play at Oklahoma State! I will be a fifth generation to attend Oklahoma State and the first to play football I can’t explain how ready I am to be a Cowboy! GO POKES!!” He tweeted.

And offensive line coach Greg Adkins and head coach Mike Gundy confirmed the news with their own “Pistols Firing” tweets:

Kegel, a Chaska, Minnesota prospect, chose to commit to the hometown Gophers earlier in the recruitment process, but chose to decommit from the program yesterday saying he was “not 100% committed to the direction of the program” following Jerry Kill’s retirement.
Kegel is the fifth offensive lineman of the 2016 recruiting class, joining Larry Williams, Teven Jenkins, Dylan Galloway and Tyler Brown.
