Oklahoma State men’s golf head coach Alan Bratton was announced as the Big 12 Coach of the Year and sophomore Ethan Fang was named the conference’s Newcomer of the Year on Thursday.
This is Bratton’s second Coach of the Year honor following his 2019 award. His Cowboys earned OSU’s 12th National Title last week, besting Virginia in the national final at Omni La Cost Resort and Spa, capping a run of five-straight wins to end the season. Bratton was named the Dave Williams National Coach of the Year for the second time in his career, earlier this week.
Fang was a key cog in that championship team and he was the ninth Cowboy to earn Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honors. Fang finished his sophomore season with nine top 10 showings and tied for 15th individually at the NCAA Championship.
These are just the latest accolades for OSU. Fang, along with fellow sophomores Preston Stour and Eric Lee, made up three of the 1o players on the All-Big 12 team. Fang and Stout were both named Division I PING First-Team All-Americans last week.
