Oklahoma State made official the addition of Memphis transfer and former five-star prospect Moussa Cisse on Wednesday in a press release. Cisse, the No. 10 overall player in the 2020 class, gives OSU a second former five-star added to the roster this offseason along with incoming KU transfer Bryce Thompson.

Cisse is a 6-foot-10, 225 pound center who as a freshman last season with the Tigers averaged 6.3 rebounds and 1.64 blocks per game, which ranked seventh and second in the AAC, respectively. His block rate of 10.5% (according to KenPom data) ranked 22nd nationally among all qualified players.

“Moussa is a major addition to our roster,” OSU coach Mike Boynton said in the release. “He has already proven himself to be an elite rim protector. He improved greatly as the season went along last year and that was evident in him being named the Freshman of the Year in a really good conference that produced a Final Four team. We look forward to Moussa helping us and are excited to help him continue to develop his game.”

Offense isn’t Cisse’s calling card — only seven times in 28 games did he reach double figures in scoring — but he is efficient when asked to give on the offensive end, as he made 55.6% on 2-pointers last season. That would’ve ranked second-best on OSU’s 2020-21 team among players who averaged at least 20 minutes per game behind only Kalib Boone.

The addition of Cisse represents what is likely to be the finishing touch of an offseason roster overhaul loaded with transfers, particularly in the frontcourt. He’s the fourth incoming transfer joining Thompson and a pair of power forwards in Syracuse transfer Woody Newton and Texas Tech transfer Tyreek Smith.
