OSU Opens as Three Touchdown Favorite Over Tulsa in Season-Opener
The books have the Pokes winning big.

Oklahoma State opened this week as a three-touchdown favorite over Tulsa in its season-opener on Sept. 12, according to odds from Sportsbetting.ag.

That could foreshadow a blowout win for the Pokes in two weeks if recent history holds true. OSU was one of the best teams against the spread in the country last season, going 9-3-1 overall and thus covering in 75% of its games. Only Kentucky (sure?) and Navy (sure!) were better, as both went 10-3-0 ATS, per teamrankings.com.
Of course, a team’s performance against the spread from one game to another — much less one season to another — doesn’t exactly serve as a good predictor of future. That’s in part why gambling is so hard!
But a three touchdown spread at the very least indicates that OSU is a heavy favorite to win, and perhaps in decisive fashion. Something like 52-24 feels in play here (which, for you math wizards out there, would be an OSU cover).
If the spread doesn’t suit your fancy, the over/under might: the website lists the line at 65 (!). Last season games in which OSU played hit the over on five occasions, with the under surprisingly cashing eight times.
