Hargis, Holder Issue Statements After Gundy and Chuba Episode
Burns weighs in.
Oklahoma State’s whirlwind day culminated Monday evening with official statements from its president, Burns Hargis, and its athletic director, Mike Holder, who condemned any “insensitive behavior” by anyone at Oklahoma State.
“I hear and respect the concerns expressed by our Black student-athletes,” said Hargis. “This is a time for unity of purpose to confront racial inequalities and injustice. We will not tolerate insensitive behavior by anyone at Oklahoma State.”

Holder issued a more blunt assessment:
Oklahoma State athletic director Mike Holder just issued the following statement:
“This afternoon has been very disturbing. The tweets from the current and former players are of grave concern.”

The comments come on the heels of what turned out to be an explosive day on the job. After a photo of Gundy donning an “OAN” T-shirt went viral, OSU star running back Chuba Hubbard took to social media to condemn the shirt, saying it was “completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable.” Hubbard added he would not be doing anything with Oklahoma State until things change.
He was joined by fellow teammates Amen Ogbongbemiga, Kolby Harvell-Peel and numerous other OSU players.
Gundy has not issued a statement and the program has not weighed in outside Holder and Hargis.
