OSU QB Recruit High on Cowboys, Planning Visit Soon
OSU’s chase for a QB continues in 2023.
Oklahoma State quarterback signee Garret Rangel made his first appearance on the Cowboys’ practice field on Tuesday as they opened spring training camp, but already the staff is making preparations for who it might bring in for the 2023 class.
That search includes a lengthy list of targets headlined right now by three-star talent Zane Flores, a 6-foot-2 Nebraska native, who told 247Sports this week that he hears frequently from OSU and is planning to soon make the trek to Stillwater.
“At the moment I am keeping in contact with Kansas State and Oklahoma State the most,” Flores told 247Sports. “Visits planned right now are Oklahoma State on April 15th and probably Kansas State on March 31st. I plan to plan more visits throughout the spring.”
OSU has offered a half-dozen other quarterback prospects in the 2023 class and remains squarely in the mix to land at least one in Brock Glenn, a Memphis product who is also planning to visit OSU soon. But it’s possible the race to land a QB in the 2023 cycle may be nearing an end. Flores is expected to commit at some point this spring and Glenn has already whittled down his list to a handful of final options. That could put the pressure on OSU to close the deal with one of the two, and could mean a QB commitment is coming in the next few months or possibly sooner.
