OSU Recruiting: 2019 Hoops Class Ranks 11th Nationally Entering Summer Period
After a fresh slate of rankings updates this past week, 2019 hoops commits Kalib and Keylan Boone soared up the prospect board as top-250 recruits at 247Sports’ recruiting service. It was a big jump for Keylan, who went from unranked to a three-star, and for Kalib, who jumped from three to four-stars.
Their gain is also Oklahoma State’s. They are no longer unknown values nationally as they were when they committed in April, which means their boost in the rankings has significantly benefited OSU’s class ranking, too. The latest update has jumped OSU from well outside the top-25 nationally to No. 11.
That slot is good for second in the Big 12 behind Kansas, which ranks sixth.
The Boone twins are a solid building block to lay a foundation for in 2019 as Mike Boynton and his staff clearly identified. Now it’s all about seeing how high the building can go.
OSU is in the mix for a number of big-timers in the 2019 class that could easily boost OSU into the top-10 at some point in the cycle. Jae’lyn Withers, Jalen Wilson, Armando Bacot, Greg Gantt and Marcus Watson are all names to watch in the coming months as Boynton and his staff look to parlay their early recruiting success in 2019 into a class that hovers in or around the top-20 by this time next year.
